CARIBBEAN - SABA

The "unspoiled Queen", how the Sabians use to call their island, is the smallest (5 sq. miles) and greenest island of the Dutch West Indies.

Easy to spot thanks to her volcano - "Mount Scenery" (900 mt) - Saba is an oasis for nature lovers along with those who want to spoil themselves with a little rest and relaxation.

Hiking the volcano or the several trails in the tropical forest together with exploring the endless dive sites are amongst Saba’s highlights.

Not an island for party animals, Saba, has around 1500 inhabitants and just one beach!
You definitely won’t find here mass tourism, but just divers and hikers.

Far away from life’s hustle and bustle, you can discover and enjoy one of the most beautiful islands of the Caribbean with few but very good restaurants.

Sabian dive sites are all in the Marine Park which since 1987 (just few years after the first scuba equipment  was introduced on the island) is monitoring and regulating all diving and fishing activities of the island.

Many are the dive sites both for beginners and advanced divers.

Depth ranges from 5 to 40 mt.

There is an amazing variety of hard and soft corals, sponges and fish life.

The deeper and most beautiful dive sites – the gigantic legendary “Pinnacles”- provides a home for groupers, snappers, nurse and black tip sharks, turtles and barracudas.

The shallower and easier dive sites not only are rich in flora and fauna ( easily spotted sea horses and frog fishes) but provide the perfect location for snorkelling, try dives, training dives and relaxing afternoon dives.

Visibility is usually between 18 and 30 mt.

Water temperature from 26 and 30 degree Celsius.

The hurricane season starts in June and ends in October even if dive operators and hotels are opened all year around.

All dive spots are 15 minutes by boat from the harbour.

Nitrox for free offer. If you are not yet certified as Enriched Air diver the course is easy and fast: in a day or two you will be able to dive nitrox.

Two deco chambers, one in the University and another one at the harbour.

Saba is the right choice for the European diver in need of a winter diving break.

We offer packages (7 nights/12 dives) with flights, accommodation and dives from £1270 per person.
